Switzerland’s Most Famous Font Inspires New Watch: Mondaine Helvetica No. 1 Bold

Mondaine Helvetica No. 1 Bold Watch

Mondaine has released the Helvetica No. 1 Bold inspired by the classic font developed in 1957 by Swiss typeface designer Max Miedinger. Helvetica means "Swiss" or "Switzerland" in Latin and is widely recognized as the most influential typeface in the world.

The stainless steel PVD case measures 43 mm in diameter and comes in either white or black. The characters on the dial are written in Helvetica font. It is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal cover and it is water resistant to 30 meters or 100 feet. The watch is powered by the Swiss quartz Ronda caliber 515, and can be had on either a black or brown leather strap with a steel buckle, or a black NATO strap.

The Helvetica No. 1 Watch by Mondaine will also come in af total of five different case sizes, and in three different font weight classes: Light (26 and 38 mm), Regular (33 and 40 mm) and Bold (43 mm).
