One of our favorite non-Swiss watch companies, NOMOS Glashütte, continues to wrack up design awards for its striking timepieces. The latest honor goes to the Metro Datum Gangreserve, pictured above, which debuted at this year's Baselworld. Earlier this week an international jury gave the watch the German Design Award calling it "youthful and cosmopolitan, elegant and straightforward." The German Design Award is one of the most prestigious international design prizes and honors high quality, innovative products and projects from products from around the world. This is the ninth major prize for NOMOS this year.
The watch is powered by an in-house caliber German-made DUW 4401 with 23 jewels and a power reserve of 42 hours. The manual wind crown is fitted to a 37mm case with double sapphire crystals on either side. For more on the watch, see our earlier review.
