If you are like us, then you are probably a bit tired of seeing fitness trackers that look about as elegant and subtle as strapping a small computer to your wrist. Now a French consumer electronics company, Withings, is entering into the fray with a beautifully designed Activité watch resembling an old-school analog watch. But beneath its timeless design is lots of tech including a motion detector that measures steps, distance covered, calories burned, tracks sleep patterns, heart rate, and more and then sends them on to your smartphone or analysis. The Activité connects over Bluetooth to Withings' iOS and Android Health Mate app.
The watch itself is powered by a Swiss quartz movement and protected by Sapphire glass. The classy case is attached to a beautiful tan or black leather strap. Dial choices can be had in silver-white or black. A small second hand tells the user how they are pacing to their daily exercise goal.
One of the most compelling features of the Activité is its 12-month battery life, unheard of for a standard smart watch.
The Activité is set for release in the fall with an asking price of $390, which we think is a steal.
