Apple has made a big splash in the Swiss watch world. According to numerous sources, the tech giant has poached Tag Heuer VP of sales and retail, Patrick Pruniaux (pictured far left). Given his background, the move suggests he'll be leading sales and marketing efforts for the so-called iWatch.
As we've reported previously, Apple is set to launch its long-rumored iWatch this October. Industry sources say that Apple will produce three to five million units per month. The watch is expected to be a wearable "device" capable of tracking the health and fitness of its wearer but in a far more elegant way than the common plastic-black-band generation of current fitness trackers.
Pruniaux isn’t the first luxury hire for Apple. The company previously hired Burberry ex-Chief Executive Angela Ahrendts to run retail and online sales, and Yves Saint Laurent’s head Paul Deneve to work on special projects.
