German watchmaker NOMOS, a favorite of this blog, has introduced a sharp-looking new model at Baselworld, the Metro Datum Gangreserve.
The watch, available beginning in May 2014, is powered by an in-house caliber German-made DUW 4401 with 23 jewels and a power reserve of 42 hours. The manual wind crown is fitted to a 37mm case with double sapphire crystals on either side.
The movement also features a Glashütte three-quarter plate, shock protection, tempered blue screws, rhodium-plated movement surfaces with Glashütte ribbing and a crown wheel with Glashütte sunburst decoration.
The dial itself is galvanized, white silver-plated, with hour indices and power reserve wheel done in striking mint green. The hands are made of steel and oxidized black. The seconds hand is lacquered red and fitted in a small sub-dial at the bottom of the face.
The watch is mounted on a Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan black leather strap with steel buckle and quick-change spring bars.
