Bulova Launches Spaceview Inspired Accutron II Alpha Watch at Baselworld

Bulova Accutron II Alpha Watch

With a combination of retro flair and technical sophistication, Bulova has brought back a homage to one of its most notable watches, the beloved Spaceview Alpha (50th anniversary model pictured above). The new Bulova Accutron II Alpha features a floating second hand, tuning fork, and green dial, which are all evocative of the original watch from the 1960s. It also uses a proprietary quartz torsional resonator movement which is six times more accurate than the standard quartz movement. Super-luminescent elements provide enhanced legibility at night.

Bulova will offer several variants inlcuding polished steel, yellow, and rose gold-toned models with black, white, or brown leather straps. Bulova will also offer a super cool black variant matched to a mesh bracelet. Prices are expected to run between $400 and $560 and the watches will be available in the summer of 2014.

I’m in. Will be getting the green with brown strap the minute it hits retail shelves.
