You may know that Swiss Army is owned by Victorinox. Most Swiss Army watches now have Victorinox Swiss Army printed on the watch dial. But where did the name come from?
Victorinox is derived from the founder's mother, Victoria, and "inox," part of the French term for stainless steel.
The privately held, family-owned company originated the Swiss Army knife and cemented its leadership position with the acqusition of Swiss Army Brands in 2002 and Wenger in 2005.
