Our 3 Favorite Swiss Watch Launches at Baselworld 2012

The Swiss watch industry is booming and that means there were more launches than ever at Baselworld this year. That makes picking our favorites tougher than ever but here are the three we nominate as the best of the best for Baselworld 2012.

The TAG Heuer Mikrogirder 10000 (pictured above) is our honorable mention pick and just missed the cut. The Mirkogirder is the fastest mechanical regulator ever created and is accurate to an unprecedented 1/2,000th of a second.

1. Bell & Ross WW1 Jump Hours Power Reserve Platinum features a jumping hour, stunning Bauhaus inspired design, power reserve, see-thru sapphire caseback, and satin-brushed platinum case.

2. Zenith Espada conjures up classic Zenith designs from the 1950s and 1960s. The case is anti-reflective-coated sapphire crystal and includes a sapphire case-back. The watch movement is the Swiss automatic Zenith in-house caliber El Primero 4650B with 22 jewels and a power reserve of 50 hours. There are several variants, including a rose gold model.

3. The Blancpain Traditional Chinese Calendar claims to be the first wristwatch equipped with a traditional Chinese calendar. The dial's Gregorian calendar sits aside the main indications of the Chinese calendar, including Zodiac signs, leap months, moon phases, and celestial stems (part of a 60-year calendrical cycle).

Now tell us what your favorites are are. We'd love to hear from you!
