Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil is seeking $20 million in punitive damages from Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron for appearing in public with a Christian Dior watch. The legal action stems from a contract Theron signed with Raymond Weil in 2005, which stated that she must only wear Raymond Weil timepieces during public events for a period of 14 months. According to the legal brief, she was pictured with a Dior watch at a the South by Southwest film festival in Austin, Texas in March 2006. Both sides have been ordered to appear in court in November in hopes of reaching a pre-trial settlement.

She’s an over-rated actress and this sort of behavior will only confirm why people don’t trust celebrity endorsements.
