As the Beijing Olympic Games set to kick-off next month, a familiar Swiss watch brand, Omega, will be in charge of timekeeping and data handling for more than 300 events in 28 different sports and 37 venues.

To help with all of this, Omega is bringing in 450 technicians and hundreds of tons of equipment to service 70 scoreboards.

This will be the 23rd time Omega will take on the role of official timekeeper for the games.

You’ve got to hand it to Omega. What’s better for the reputation than being the official timer of the Olympic Games. Great marketing potential. Oh, and I have a Speedmaster, so full disclosure here!
