Swatch Posts Record Sales (Again)

Swatch Group AG, the world's largest watchmaker, reported an 18 percent increase in sales in 2007 on Friday. The rise was largely fueled by surging demand for luxury items in China, India, and the Middle East.

Sales increased to a record $5.4 billion in 2007.

Swatch is expecting a "super record year" in 2008, helped by the Omega brand's sponsorship of the Beijing Olympics, Chief Executive Officer Nicolas Hayek Jr. said in a press release.
